Felix and Hugo White of The Maccabees have formed a new band.
The siblings have joined forces with their brother Will and drummer Jamie Morrison to create a new band called 86TVs and they have promised to release new music by the end of the year.
Felix wrote on Instagram: “I’ve been making a record with my brothers for a few years. It took a second, but we are finally happy with what our new group is….
“[This week] we played the songs for the first time to a room full of friends and family in Omeara. It was really a great time. I had forgotten how much I missed it. Thank you everyone. At some point this year there will be the first music and concert recordings.. we really can’t wait to share all of this with you.
“The group is called @86tvs. The people in it are: @hugowhitenoise @popmorrison @willwhitenoise xx.”
Hugo wrote: “We played the first gig with our new band. This project was incredibly valuable to us, it took us a few years to get to this point! But we did it, it came true last night.
“The band is split between my two brothers, our dear friend Jamie Morrison I.
“Thank you to all who made [the] night so special.
“I can’t wait for everyone to hear the music we made, come see us live.
“Exciting times, a fresh start.”
The Maccabees were an English indie rock band formed in London in 2004. They released four albums before announcing their split in 2016 and going their separate ways in 2017 after several farewell concerts.
