St Olaf Band, Timothy Mahr, Music Director, is the winner of the American Prize in Band Performance 2021 in the college / university division (smaller program).

The St Olaf Band was selected from recently screened applications across the United States. The American Prize National Nonprofit Competitions in the Performing Arts is the nation’s most comprehensive series of nonprofit competitions in the musical and performing arts, of unique scope and structure, designed to recognize and recognize the best artists, ensembles and composers based in the United States. on submitted records.

The American Prize was founded in 2009 and is awarded annually in many areas of the performing arts.

Founded in 1891, the St. Olaf Band enjoys a long legacy of energetic participation and meaningful performances across the country and abroad. Mahr took over from Miles Johnson in 1994 and is now entering his 27th year as a conductor.
