Northwood Announces Lineup for Freedom Fest Concert Series


MIDLAND — Northwood University has announced the lineup for its inaugural Freedom Fest concert series, which kicks off July 19 with a performance by the Coleman Road Band.

Northwood’s Freedom Fest concert series will continue throughout the summer, featuring Billy Gunther and the Midwest Riders and Stone Street Revival.

“All of us here at Midland’s University invite the community to our beautiful campus to experience fun for all ages,” said Northwood University President Kent MacDonald. “We look forward to a series of great concerts, starting with July’s performance of the Coleman Road Band.”

Each concert will feature games for the whole family, food trucks, cakes and soft drinks. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase adult beverages at Tavern 59 for the launch of the July 19 concert series.

Those planning to go out should bring their own lawn chairs. Everyone is allowed to bring snacks and soft drinks on July 19. This concert will feature the Coleman Road Band, a five piece band playing classic rock, blues, soul and R&B.

Stone Street Revival (SSR) is scheduled to perform on September 20, 2022 at Northwood University in Midland.

Billy Gunther and the Midwest Riders will perform on August 23. This is a classic country and rock band from Flint.

Stone Street Revival is a premier musical group from Michigan that focuses on great songs you don’t hear often and hits from the 70s. Attendees will hear powerful vocals and instruments from this seasoned, professional band during of its performance in Northwood on September 20.

All Freedom Fest “Music in the Woods” concerts will take place at the John and Marjorie Hohman Amphitheater in Midland. In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will be moved to the Griswold Communications Center.
