ALPENA – Alpena’s hard rock band Katharsys Theory have been selected to play at one of Michigan’s biggest summer music festivals, Upheaval Fest, alongside some of rock music’s biggest names of today. The festival will take place on July 15 and 16.

KT is scheduled to play Saturday, July 16 at Belknap Park in Grand Rapids. The Katharsys theory is not new to the headlines. They released their debut album last year which can be found on all streaming platforms. The band has been labeled one of the most driven and respectable bands in Michigan, and they don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.

KT is set to share the stage with Disturbed, Three Days Grace, Nothing More, Hatebreed, Escape the Fate, Butcher Babies, Nita Strauss and more.

“It really is a dream come true for us to have this incredible opportunity and to be able to represent Alpena at this festival,” said frontman and guitarist Carlos Vivero. “It’s confirmation that all our hard work is paying off. The future of our group holds many possibilities.
