Global superstar Dolly Parton’s musical announces Melbourne season

It was announced today that global superstar Dolly Parton’s hit West End musical 9 TO 5 MUSIC will play at the State Theatre, Arts Center Melbourne, from July 10 this year. Internationally acclaimed and loved by audiences and critics alike, 9 to 5 it’s pure pleasure carat d’or! A stellar cast has been assembled to portray these iconic and much-loved roles. Marina Before (The sound of music, the phantom of the opera) will play Violet Newstead, a smart, sassy, ​​and efficient woman who has worked her entire life at Consolidated Industries. She has everything it takes to run the business, but there’s a little hitch…her boss! Casey Donovan (Chicago, we’ll rock you) will be Judy Bernly, a newly estranged young woman who has never worked before and finds more than just a job at Consolidated Industries. Erin Claire (Heathers the Musical, American Idiot) plays Doralee Rhodes, a well-mannered, bright, and beautiful country gal. It may look like a push, but it’s anything but! Caroline O’Connor (Kiss of the Spider Woman, everything is fine) will be busy person Roz Keith, the administrative assistant who is fiercely – and unrequited – in love with her boss, while perfect eddie (televisions Offspring, Shane Warne The Musical) will play the boss controlling Franklin Hart Jnr.

Rehearsals have begun and the countdown is on for the highly anticipated Australian premiere of this hilarious musical at the Capitol Theater in Sydney on February 16, followed by a limited season at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC, Brisbane from May 22.
